MY DAYS IN TYROL, THE HEART OF THE ALPS
If you liked the movie of Sound of Music, I recommend you to spend some days in Austria, more specifically in the region of Tyrol in the Alps. Priceless!!!
I have a couple of post saved for you but today I will start with my adventure last weekend in Austria, more specifically in the region of Tyrol in the Alps. I arrived on wednesday night in Munich airport from where we directed ourselves to a beautiful, friendly and quiet town called Alpbach. After having a stroll around the town I got the impression of being in a idyllic fairy tale. The following morning, when waking up, I went out on the terrace to explore all this, and I became witness to the magnificent and wonderful views that evolved in front of me. A valley covered in an intensive green in the middle of high peaks, surrounded by Tyrollean houses made out of wood, decorated to perfection and with plenty of flowers, all this wrapped up by a fresh and pure mountain odor. At the same moment and much to my surprise I received a pleasant greeting from a couple passing by who with discretion and charm wished me Good Morning.
We did numerous routes to discover magnificent spots, in car, by cable car and of course trekking in the mountains, between hills and towns. In one of the hikes from the town of Lech to Zug I reached a 2 000 m peak where it felt like I could almost touch the sky. For me it was as if they had put me in a postcard or directly into the cast of Sound of music.
The city of Innsbruck at around 1 hour and 30 min to Alpbach also caught my attention for its charm and medieval and picturesque essence. I recommend you to take a stroll in the city center and visit the cathedral Dom Jakob.
