EYES OF LIFE AND ENDLESS SMILES- Educo in Cambodja part II

EDUCO collaborates with local NGOs to help build and maintain schools in areas where there are no public schools.

We left Phnom Penh and began our journey through the different provinces of the country to visit schools and projects that have been collaborating with Educo for years. I think the pictures speak for themselves but I’d say it’s one of the most enriching experiences I have lived so far, I was totally focused on the present, to enjoy where I came without worrying or questioning anything. I love all children I met, the illusion of local volunteers and my teammates and the enthusiasm with which we welcomed the families of the children is something that I will never forget, THANK YOU!

Educo collaborates with local NGOs to help build and maintain schools in areas where there are no public schools. In these schools kids learn among other things to read and write in khmer, illness Prevention and human rights, and they also receive school supplies and uniforms. Even though children sometimes have to walk more than 5 km to reach their school, they still enables them to get a decent education and a job opportunity in the future. I interviewed different children and their families, teachers, community leaders, school directors. Reflecting over what they told me, I can ensure that the work of an NGO is really important, without this support, without this attention to these people , an important part of children in Cambodia do not have access to education.
